About the role
As a Dibber SEN Teacher, you'll play a pivotal role in making our nursery a fantastic place for children, caregivers and staff.
Day to day, you will:
- Tailor curriculum materials and teaching approaches to meet the unique learning needs of each student in SEN classes.
- Utilize creative teaching methods and resources to accommodate various learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all students have access to a meaningful and engaging education.
- Collaborate with the inclusion team to develop comprehensive early intervention plans for students with special needs.
- Proactively identify areas where additional support is required and implement targeted interventions to address specific learning challenges, behavioral issues, or developmental delays, thereby promoting positive outcomes and progress for each student.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where diversity is celebrated, and every student feels valued and respected.
- Implement proactive strategies for behavior management and conflict resolution, ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to participate and succeed.
- Promote social interaction and peer support among students, fostering a sense of belonging and community within the classroom.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with parents, caregivers, and external professionals involved in the care and education of students with special needs.
- Collaborate closely with external agencies, such as speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to coordinate support services and ensure a holistic approach to each student's development.
- Act as a liaison between home and school, providing regular updates on student progress and offering guidance and support to families as needed.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education (BEd) or CACHE Level 3 qualification.
- Qualification in Special Education Needs or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in an SEN education setting.
- Experience in offering inclusion support across the Early Years.
- Excellent social and communication skills, with a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
- Collaborative team player.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Cultural sensitivity.
- Proficiency in documentation.
